Asimina triloba (PawPaw)

Zone 5 – 8, Full Sun, Height to 10’. Native to eastern USA. Paw Paw's produce the largest fruit of any native US trees. Producing up to 1 foot long and 1 lb green/yellow banana like fruit. Delicious tropical Mango flavour.This was one of the Native American food sources for thousands of years. I now have a number of varieties available.
- Davis : From Illinois this is a very reliable highly productive Tree. Sweet fruit and early flowering, great in Vancouver and lower mainland.
- Mango : Just as the name indicates,this small tree produces large yellow sweet mango flavored fruit in fall.
- Mitchell : A popular variety back east, large crops good quality fruit.
- NC-1 : This is a Canadian introduction. Large orange sweet fruit in fall.
- Pennsylvania Gold : A Northwest favorite, sweet and full of tropical flavor and ripens early in Oregon, Washington and BC Canada.
- Prolific : Often produces in the second year. Early ripening sweet tasty large crops
- Sunflower : This is the earliest flowering variety for me here in BC. It is semi-self fertile producing Delicious creamy orange/yellow fruit.
- Taylor : Early ripening producing abundant sweet, aromatic fruit.
- Wilson : This sweet and flavor full Yellow-Green fruit variety has been recommended as a great variety for BC.
