This weeping form of the Fargesia  from Western China has an elegant appearance. Grows very dense for a thick tight screen.   Fine small thin light green leaves are produced on clusters of  multiple 4" to 6" branches. Culms are smooth plum-purple and stay unbranched for the first year. Creates an excellent potted screen bamboo for deck gardens and thick impenetrable hedges/borders.

Does not run , good for low/no maintenance plantings.
